Sole Proprietorship Registration

Overview
Best suited to. Freelancers, consultants and small traders starting out alone, who want to be operating this week rather than next month.
How we price it. One fixed professional fee, agreed in writing before any work begins, with government fees and statutory charges itemised separately and payable at actuals. If the scope changes, we tell you before doing the work.
What’s included
- 01
Registration mix advice
We tell you which registrations you actually need for your trade and turnover, rather than selling you all of them.
- 02
Udyam registration
MSME recognition in the business name — the document banks most often accept as proof of a proprietorship.
- 03
GST registration
Where you cross the threshold, sell interstate or need a GSTIN to invoice business customers.
- 04
Shop and establishment licence
Filed with your state authority where your premises and headcount require it.
- 05
Current account pack
Assembled so the bank opens the account in the trade name without a second round of queries.
Documents required
Collected once, digitally. We check the whole set before anything is filed — document problems are what turn a two-week job into a six-week one.
Identity
- PAN card
- Aadhaar card
- Passport-size photograph
- Bank account details in your own name
Business
- Proposed trade name
- Place of business proof — utility bill, rent agreement and owner's NOC
- Nature of business and expected turnover
How it works
- Step 01
What you actually need
A short conversation about your trade, customers and turnover decides the registration mix.
- Step 02
Applications filed
Udyam, GST and state licence filed together rather than one after another.
- Step 03
Certificates issued
We follow up on each portal and answer any clarification raised.
- Step 04
Banking and invoicing
You get the document pack for the current account and a note on how to invoice correctly.
Questions
Q1Do I need GST as a proprietor?
Only if you cross the turnover threshold, sell interstate, sell through an e-commerce operator, or need a GSTIN because your customers require one. We work out which applies to you before filing anything.
Q2Can I open a current account in my business name?
Yes. Banks generally want two business-identity documents — typically Udyam registration plus GST or a shop and establishment licence. That is exactly the pack we prepare.
Q3How is a proprietorship taxed?
It is not taxed separately. Business income is added to your personal income and taxed at your individual slab rate, filed in your own ITR.
Q4When should I move to an LLP or a company?
When liability starts to matter, when you take on a partner, or when customers and lenders begin asking for a corporate counterparty. We will tell you when you are at that point.
